Q1. How soon after completing the online course can I expect to get my certificate?A1. Certificates are sent by post to the address provided on the ONLINE REGISTRATION FORM.
You should receive your certificate within 5 working days after successful completion of the course. -
Q2. Do I have to finish the course within a certain time?A2. Yes you have to complete the course within 90 days. (Please read our terms and conditions)
However, you can start and finish either of the two courses in your own time and at your own pace.
You can bookmark your work and go back to it at your leisure. -
Q3. How will I be assessed?A3. At the end of each session, you will need to test your knowledge by answering a few true or false questions.
Additionally, for the Food hygiene for Food Handlers course, you will be required to answer a number of multiple choice, and true or false questions once you have successfully completed all the sessions.
For the Food Safety Supervisor course, you will be required to read through a case study before answering a number of questions relating to the case study. -
Q4. Will I need to complete any assessment tasks at work?A4. No. All assessment tasks are completed online.

Q5. Will someone come to my work to conduct an assessment?A5. No. All assessment tasks are completed online.

Q6. Is there a practical assessment for me to complete?A6. No. There is no practical assessment. All assessment tasks are completed online.

Q7. What happens if I fail the course?A7. You cannot fail any of our courses!
The assessments are designed so that you are given every opportunity to re-try any questions you did not answer correctly.
At the end of each session you can test your knowledge by completing a short test. If you do not pass the minimum required to go to the next session, you can go back and work through the session or go straight to the test and answer the questions again.
Once you have answered all questions correctly you can move on to the next session.

Q8. Do I need to complete the Food Hygiene for Food Handlers course before completing the Food Safety Supervisor course?A8. No. The Food Hygiene for Food Handlers course is not a pre requisite for the Food Safety Supervisor course.
All topics covered in the Food Hygiene for Food Handlers course are covered in the Food Safety Supervisor course. -
Q9. I want to open my own food business. Which course should I complete the Food Hygiene for Food Handlers or the Food Safety Supervisor Course?A9. Everyone who works in a food business is responsible for the safety of the food they handle.
However the business owner has the responsibility to ensure the business’ food safety practices are put into place and they work effectively. The business owner holds the business’ food registration with their local council and needs to ensure that the food business complies with the food regulations.
Food Safety Supervisor course will take through all aspects of safe food practices in relation to the food safety regulations. -
Q10. How do I know which food sector my food business falls into?A10. To know which food sector your food business falls into, consideration should be given to the predominant activity of your business. If you are unsure which food sector your business falls into, contact your local council Environmental Health Officer to confirm which sector your business falls into.

Q11. Is the Food Safety Supervisor course suitable for people who work in community services such as childcare centres and nursing homes?A11. Yes it is. The course is suitable for people who work in several food sectors including: FOOD PROCESSING, RETAIL, HOSPITALITY, HEALTH, COMMUNITY SERVICES, AND TRANSPORT & DISTRIBUTION.

Q14. My business opens 7 days a week. Do I need to employ more than one Food Safety Supervisor?A14. No. You don't need to employ more than one Food Safety Supervisor. However, you need to make sure that staff you employ have all the necessary skills and knowledge to handle food so that the food remains safe at all times and free from any type of contamination.
